• Steampunk @ Altitude 2022

Skav’s Steampunk Workshop had a great weekend on the 30th April – 1st May at Steampunk @ Altitude: Nimmitabel’s annual steampunk festival. The weather forecast was ominous but the weekend turned out beautifully with blue skies and a gentle crisp cool breeze, perfect weather for steampunk attire! Our online store was closed for the festival, and will remain closed until we can update our stock levels. We will let you know as soon as it is up and running again – until then, if you have any enquiries please send us a message through our contact form. – Beibhinn

  • A Wonderful Fair in Goulburn

After it’s postponement in October 2021, Goulburn Steampunk & Victoriana Fair took place a couple of weekends ago on the 12th-13th March and we were there with bells on! The weather was perfect – sunny, no wind, not too warm or too cool, and fortunately falling after the recent flooding rain had decided to subside for a few days giving the grounds a chance to dry out. Skav’s Steampunk Workshop had our stall set up and the Airship Sirius Crew had an amazing turn out for the first steampunk event of 2022 – with hopefully more to come! It’s been a long time since anyone in the steampunk community could…

  • Pocketwatch update

A massive shipment of new steampunk pocketwatches is inbound! This new batch contains over 80 pocketwatches in 40 odd different styles. However, we are no longer able to offer them at our current price of $25 each 😔 For the first time in 7 years, due to increases in costs, we have been forced to increase the price of our pocketwatches. These wonderful new pocketwatches will be available from Goulburn Steampunk onwards at the new price of $35 each or 2 for $60. There are still plenty of the current stock of pocketwatches, they are currently available for a short time only at the old price of $25 each. So…

  • Goulburn Steampunk & Victoriana Fair – Postponed

It’s been a pretty tough couple of years with the COVID-19 pandemic, and probably won’t be letting up anytime soon. With the newest outbreak seeing almost all of New South Wales in lockdown, it is with a heavy heart that we announce that the Steampunk & Victoriana Fair at Goulburn has been postponed until the 11th-13th March 2022. While we are in lockdown, we will be not be attending any other events in the meantime. While it is heart-breaking to miss all the festivals that so many of us rely on, we must take comfort in the knowledge that we are looking after each other by staying at home. Please…

  • Skav’s is Back!

Hello everyone -Just wanted to write a brief message to say that Skav’s Steampunk Workshop online store is back up and running (hopefully) better than before! Skav & Beibhinn bought a house (yay!) and had the monumentous task of moving Skav’s workshop to it’s new home. After some stressful weeks everything is unpacked and ready for action again. Skav now has a much larger workshop with space for all his current tools plus some new ones. Because of this, you can expect great new things to come up on our online store and market stall in the coming months. To celebrate the re-opening of the online store, use the code…

  • Our Time at Nimmitabel: Steampunk @ Altitude

After over 18 months of inactivity Skav’s attended it’s first festival in 2021 – Steampunk @ Altitude, in Nimmitabel. The weather was beautiful and it was a great weekend! Some of the Airship Sirius Crew came along as well after dusting off our steampunk outfits. We drove up on Friday and were set up for both days of the festival. There was music in the air and the whole town came alive on Saturday with shops selling their wares and attractions all along the main street of Nimmitabel. On Saturday afternoon a fashion parade was held in the Green Square where Skav’s was located and everyone took part in the…

  • Coming Up Soon – Steampunk @ Altitude: A Festival at Nimmitabel

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected us all in different ways – but the biggest blow here at Skav’s was the postponement of all our events. We had high hopes for Ironfest 2021 but unfortunately it has also been delayed. Finally, after over 12 months the fast has broken – Steampunk @ Altitude, a steampunk festival in the quaint town of Nimmitabel is going ahead on the 1st-2nd May 2021… and we’re going! Steampunk @ Altitude was started a few years ago now, with steampunk themed stalls and attractions coming from all over to the little town to turn it into one big festival. Attractions are spread all over Nimmitabel to…

  • A Custom Jewellery Project

We can do all sorts of things for you at Skav’s Steampunk Workshop. Most recently Skav received a request from a customer to repurpose some vintage watches belonging to a late family member. Some of the watches were a more modern battery design, but there were a couple that contained some lovely watch movements. These beautiful wristwatches were able to be brought out into the light and given some new life rather than being hidden or thrown away.. Once he assessed the jewellery, the next part of the project was to clean all the watch parts thoroughly and make them into something else. One of the watches had a gorgeous…

  • New to Store! Parasols and Canes

This week at Skav’s Steampunk Workshop we are releasing a NEW category in our online store – it’s Parasols and Canes. We have had a small selection of parasols and canes at our market stall at previous events (back in the pre-covid days when there were still events to attend!) but for the first time you can order yourself one of these directly from our online store. A cane is a very elegant and distinguishing piece or prop that can be added to any Steampunk’s outfit. We have a wide range of canes available and all of them can be conveniently broken down into 2 or 3 sections for ease…

  • A Little Look at Our Clockwork Jewellery Range

Skav’s Steampunk Workshop has been slowly growing and developing over the last 8 years – in fact, one of the earliest markets we attended was actually a local markets in Mudgee (a lovely town in central west New South Wales where both Beibhinn and Skav grew up). The biggest seller and certainly one of the most interesting items we had for sale were a series of ‘clockwork pendants’, which most onlookers had never seen the likes of before. This range of ‘clockwork’ jewellery was one of the first (and the most long standing) groups of products Skav ever made, and still makes today. There are several key points that make…
